Reflecting on my past through old photographs, I'm drawn to a picture of me holding a Diet Coke can, a poignant reminder of my teenage years marked by dieting challenges and personal growth. At 12 years old, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, a doctor's visit revealed I weighed 145 pounds and suggested I aim for 125 pounds. My aunt introduced me to a diet based on chemical reactions that had worked for her, claiming it could help lose 15 pounds in just 4 days.
The diet was straightforward and drastic, allowing you to drink diet soda, water, black coffee, and tea, accompanied by the following plan:
Day 1: Consuming 7 oranges throughout the day.
Day 2: Eating 7 bananas, spread out over meals.
Day 3: Having 7 boiled eggs, seasoned only with pepper.
Day 4: Consuming 7 hot dogs, without buns, topped with mustard only.
Accompanied by Diet Coke and water, this diet led to a rapid weight loss of 27 pounds in two weeks, but it negatively affected my health and well-being.
This journey was about more than weight loss; it evolved into a deeper quest for self-acceptance and the understanding that well-being extends beyond the numbers on a scale. At 18 years old, I remember fasting for 28 days on just water, which resulted in a 33-pound weight loss—from 179 pounds to 146 pounds. Regrettably, I regained all the weight in just 3 weeks.
In my 20s, despite giving up meat for 8 years, I experienced weight fluctuations due to an increased intake of sugars and carbs to replace the missing fish and meats.
In my late 30s, a significant change occurred when I began using a detox supplement recommended by my mom. She always stayed in shape, even though she ate her favorite foods and rarely took medications, only aspirin from time to time.
Having battled with yo-yo dieting for most of my life, I was determined to find a sustainable way to enjoy my favorite foods like my mom without constant dieting. This led to the creation of Food Fuel. By embracing detoxing and moderation, I've been able to indulge in my favorite foods and sweets while achieving and maintaining the best health of my life. These changes not only helped me lose weight gradually but also improved my energy levels, focus, and reduced fatigue. Food Fuel, in particular, has supported my intermittent fasting efforts by effectively managing my cravings.
Today, I no longer adhere to extreme diets but focus on a healthier lifestyle that emphasizes overall well-being. The detox and Food Fuel have profoundly transformed my health for the better, and I'm eager to share this journey with you, hoping it will assist others who have faced similar challenges.
